The Boat
Northabout
David Hempleman-Adams famously sailed around the Arctic in the sailboat Northabout, which engrossed the list of historic vessels used in the North Pole explorations.
The Northabout is being re-launched with a new crew and a new challenge.
Designed in Paris by Caroff Duflos Naval Architects, the Northabout was built in Ireland in 2000 by the famous Jarlath Cunnane, and is completely made of aluminum. A 15×4 meter sailboat that makes no concessions to aesthetics, but is unrivaled when it comes to navigating icy seas.
